• Polygon is a Commit Chain.

• are referred as non-custodial side chains but without a new consensus mechanism, as it is the case for side chains. They rely on main chain consensus mechanism, so they can considered as safe as the main chain. The operator of the commit chain is responsible for facilitating communication between transacting participants and sending regular updates to the main chain.
